Overview
Perryville complex has a max population of 4,401 inmates and currently houses female offenders. Perryville complex has 4 open units (Lumley, Santa Cruz, San Carlos and Santa Rosa/Piestewa) with custodies ranging from minimum to close custody offenders. The complex offers female offenders education, substance abuse programs, mental health programs, transition programs, religious services, family reunification events to include employment.
Programs
Work Crews
Perryville Complex creates opportunities for offenders to develop marketable job skills and good work habits through Business’ that produce products and services for stakeholders. The skill sets relate to opportunities in the community. Perryville complex provides an inmate workforce to Hickman’s Egg ranch. The complex also has inmates from the various units that work in the Food Service, Maintenance crews, plumbing, library, painters, Complex’s Physical plant and Motor Pool. Other labor forces provided are the Special Olympics, ACI Televerde, Printshop, and Garment factory. The Garment Factory manufactures inmate garments and aids in cutting cost for inmate clothing. The Televerde call centers have brought in revenues that benefit the State of Arizona. Other employment offered to inmate offenders that help local communities are: The Motor Vehicle Department, Ash Crew, ADOT and the Wildland Fire Crew.
Education
All units in Perryville offer Functional literacy, High school, GED, College and University programs. Degree opportunities range from certificates in plumbing, automotive, quality customer service, Associates and Bachelor’s degrees. Ashland University has Spanish classes available and Rio Salado College offers Work Based- Education as well as degrees.
Treatment & Self-Improvement Programs
Perryville complex has deployed the Convergent Case Management (CCM) which allows for the Case Manager to engage with the inmate and gather information, assisting the inmate in reaching realistic goals upon release. All units offer Changing Offender Behavior, Parenting, Conflict resolution (courage to change), Women in recovery (WIR), religious services, Art programs and volunteer led NA and AA Programs. Lumley unit offers The Red Program and Santa Rosa and Piestewa units, which are a combined facility offering the Second Chance Center for inmates who are soon to be released. This is a pre-release program that helps incarcerated inmates to be successful in their lives upon release. The Department of Economic Security has partnered with ADCRR to help secure and connect inmates with employment upon their release. Lumley unit offers The Red Program
