The Office of Emergency Preparedness plays a crucial role in ensuring readiness and response capabilities for various emergency situations. It oversees advanced Incident Command System (ICS) training for the agency and its Incident Management Team, equipping personnel with the necessary skills to manage and coordinate during crises. Additionally, it assists in the development and conduct of exercises that simulate emergency scenarios to test and refine strategies outlined in Emergency Operation Response Plans. Functioning as one of the Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (DEMA) Emergency Support Function (ESF)-13 resources, it is also responsible for the Continuity of Operations (COOP) and the agency’s participation in the State Emergency Response and Recovery Plan (SERRP), ensuring continuous operation and effective recovery efforts during and after emergencies. This Office also supervises the Central Office Communications Center (COCC).
