Emergency Preparedness oversees the development of emergency plans and the training of emergency teams to ensure response to planned and unplanned events, whether technological, natural or human-caused.  It also ensures response in support of the Arizona State Response Plan (SRP) in the event of a statewide emergency and that Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) are in place for each correctional facility to include all ADCRR buildings.  

The purpose of the plans are to enhance the ability to mitigate losses, respond quickly, and resume normal business when a disruption occurs.

Emergency Preparedness also oversees the Radio Services Unit which is responsible for maintaining all radio communications systems across the state, as well as the Central Office Communication Center which provides centralized communication.
