SCHEDULED EXECUTION OF INMATE MURRAY HOOPER COMPLETED

FLORENCE, AZ - Pursuant to the Arizona Supreme Court’s Warrant of Execution issued on October 12, 2022, the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry carried out the execution of inmate Murray Hooper (ADCRR # 047621) on November 16, 2022.  Hooper was declared deceased at 10:34 a.m. at ASPC-Florence.

The mode and manner of the death was by lethal injection.

Murray Hooper was convicted of killing Patrick Redmond and Redmond’s mother-in-law, Helen Phelps in 1980 in Phoenix.
