INMATE DEATH NOTIFICATION - KIET PHUONG

BUCKEYE, AZ— Inmate Kiet Phuong (ADCRR # 285875) died on July 10, 2022 from an apparent act of self-harm by hanging.  Prison staff discovered Phuong, 56, unresponsive in his assigned housing location on Sunday and conducted life-saving measures until paramedics arrived onsite. The Buckeye Valley Fire Department pronounced Phuong deceased. 

Inmate Phuong was sentenced out of Pima County for Second Degree Murder. 

His assigned housing location was ASPC-Lewis in Buckeye, Arizona.

All inmate deaths are investigated in consultation with the county medical examiner’s office.
