Inmate Death Notification – Joseph Harris

TUCSON (Monday, December 12, 2022) – Inmate Joseph Harris, 46, ADCRR #120987, died on December 12, 2022 at ASPC-Tucson.

On December 12, 2022, ASPC-Tucson staff discovered Inmate Harris unresponsive in his housing unit with what appeared to be a sheet around his neck. 
Staff entered the inmate’s cell and began life-saving measures. Medical arrived on site, and 911 was called. The Tucson Fire Department arrived at Cimarron unit and shortly after, pronounced Inmate Harris deceased.

An investigation is currently being conducted by Criminal Investigators with ADCRR.

Inmate deaths are also investigated in consultation with the county medical examiner’s office.

Inmate Harris was admitted to ADCRR custody in 2015 after he was sentenced out of Maricopa County for First Degree Murder.
His assigned housing location was ASPC-Tucson.
