EXECUTION SCHEDULED FOR INMATE MURRAY HOOPER

PHOENIX—Pursuant to the Arizona Supreme Court’s Warrant of Execution issued on October 12, 2022, the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry will carry out the execution of inmate Murray Hooper (ADCRR # 047621) on November 16, 2022.

Murray Hooper was convicted of killing Patrick Redmond and Redmond’s mother-in-law, Helen Phelps in 1980.

The execution is scheduled for 10 a.m. at ASPC-Florence. 

Members of the press planning to attend the media briefing following the execution must be in the media staging parking lot by no later than 8:00 a.m. From 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., shuttle vans will take members of the press to the media briefing room.

The media staging parking area location will open at 5:00 a.m. on November 16, 2022. Following the conclusion of the press briefing, vans will bring members of the media back to the media staging parking area.
