ADCRR Begins Phase II Reopening

(PHOENIX) — The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) has resumed all Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) work programs as part of its Phase II reopening which began earlier this week.  ADCRR’s Maricopa and Pima Reentry Centers have also reopened along with in-person immigration hearings at all facilities.  

Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI) has also resumed work crew activities as part of the reopening. Crews have resumed work with multiple contracted partners including L & L Manufactured Components, Ascent Aviation Services, Erickson Framing, Du-Brook Dairy, and Fiesta Canning, among others.  ACI, a division of the ADCRR, was developed more than 35 years ago to provide structured programming to create opportunities for offenders to gain valuable job skills and strong work habits.  ACI inmate programs allow inmates to be paid for their work.  

The work crews and staff will continue the use of mandatory face coverings while working off-site and CDC social distancing guidelines will also be maintained.  All returning inmate crews are also being closely monitored in collaboration with Centurion, ADCRR’s contracted medical vendor.  

On June 19, 2021, in-person visits resumed as part of the Department's Phase I reopening. In-person visits are currently limited to two adult visitors and one minor child, or three people. The first phase reopening also recommenced in-person attorney visits, volunteer service activities and the Department’s Second Chance Centers.  

ADCRR continues to follow state and CDC guidelines for congregate care settings to protect those in our custody.
