Work Crews

Intergovernmental Agreement assignments and working within the local and surrounding communities. Other employment opportunities include food service, building maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and general labor crews for the upkeep and maintenance of its institutional grounds. Tonto Unit inmates are employed solely within the confines of its perimeter. Globe, Graham and Fort Grant Units minimum custody inmates are utilized for the entire off site crews. Tonto Unit inmates are employed solely within the confines of its perimeter. ASPC-Safford Work Crews are sent out daily within the local and surrounding communities within Graham County, Greenlee County and Cochise County for community betterment and beautification projects. Additional crews provided by Safford include: Wild land Fire Crew, Healthy Forrest Initiative, and a Cattle Operation.

Education

Adult Basic Education (Functional Literacy 8th Grade equivalency); General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and a high school diploma earned through the SchoolsPLP program. Other Programs offered include: Cognitive Restructuring, Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, 12 Step Programs, Convergent Case Management, Health and Fitness, Parenting Classes, and Religious Services in numerous denominations for the inmate population. Eastern Arizona College offers Classes in: HVAC, Automotive, Construction Technology, and Masonry Rio Salado Community College and Ashland University offers a variety of distance learning classes.

Moderate Treatment with a Substance Abuse Counselor, COB-Changing Offender Behavior, Hustle 2.0, The Change Company Courses, Merging Two Worlds, Convergent Case Management (CCM), Recovery and Substance Abuse, Peer to Peer Facilitation, AA & NA Meetings, Men in Recovery, Recovery Support Specialist (RSS), Staying Sober, Reentry Prep.
