PHOENIX (Friday, June 21, 2019) – The Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) has released a new video in its “Second Chances” series, this one featuring the wide-range of inmate educational programs provided within the Department. ADC is helping to create positive change in the lives of inmates with accredited, high-quality educational opportunities throughout prisons in the State of Arizona.

Committed correctional employees, including teachers, programming staff, officers, and administration, work together to help inmates succeed in Functional Literacy, GED, state-certified High School, Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Higher Education in cooperation with partners such as Eastern Arizona College, Rio Salado College and Arizona State University.

By breaking the cycle that helped contribute to their incarceration, inmates become more self-confident, start thinking about their future beyond prison, and truly find a second chance to become successful and productive members of the community.
