FLORENCE— The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) will be holding a press briefing at 10am Sunday morning, January 24, 2021, regarding an escape at ASPC-Florence in Florence, Arizona.  Inmates John B. Charpiot, ADC #265660 and David T. Harmon, ADC #057610, escaped from the medium custody south unit at ASPC-Florence on Saturday. 


Speaking at the press conference will be ADCRR Deputy Director, Frank Strada, Colonel Heston Silbert, Director of the Arizona Department of Public Safety, and Sheriff Mark Lamb.  Also in attendance will be Pinal County Attorney Kent Volkmer and other community leaders.

This is currently ADCRR’s top priority, and all available resources are being employed to the search effort.  The department has dispatched its chase teams, tracking dog teams and fugitive apprehension unit to find the fugitive inmates. Local authorities and the Arizona Department of Public Safety are also assisting in the search.  The department will not rest until these inmates have been apprehended. 


Anyone with information of their whereabouts is encouraged to call 911. Updates and new information will be provided on an ongoing and regular basis.    


Members of the press who are planning to attend, please enter through the main Florence complex gate. From there you will be directed as to where to park and the building location of where the press conference will be held. 


Please bring your mask with you.  ADCRR will also have additional masks and hand sanitizers onsite.  We ask that you socially distance by at least six feet during the press conference.
