The Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) today accepted the donation of approximately 1,600 Spanish-language textbooks from the government of Mexico. The texts are being distributed to ADC prisons statewide for inmate use in prison education libraries. The books were presented to the ADC by the Consul General of Mexico, Ambassador Roberto Rodriguez Hernandez, at a ceremony this morning at the state prison complex in Tucson.
The Arizona Department of Corrections will carry out the Arizona Supreme Court order to execute inmate Joseph Wood, #086279, on Wednesday, July 23. The execution is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Central Unit of ASPC-Florence. Members of the media must be in the media staging area by 8 a.m.

The Arizona Supreme Court has ordered the execution of inmate Joseph Wood, #86279, on July 23, 2014. A representative from television, radio, print and the local media where the crime occurred may constitute the media pool. Witnesses will be selected 14 days prior to the execution and a letter of invitation will be sent.
