The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry has deployed six Wildland Fire Crews from Winslow, Florence, Lewis, Yuma, Tucson, and Safford Arizona State Prison Complexes to help fight the Bighorn Fire outside of Tucson and the Bush Fire in the Tonto National Forest.
Inmate Kevin A. Purdon, ADC #309804, escaped from the minimum custody Catalina Unit in Tucson Sunday night. Purdon, a minimum-custody inmate housed at ASPC-Tucson, was admitted to prison in 2016 after being convicted out of Pima County to serve four and a half years for solicitation of a dangerous drug violation.
