ADCRR Press Releases
FLORENCE - Jason McClelland, a correctional sergeant assigned to ASPC-Florence, was arrested by ADCRR’s Criminal Investigations Unit and booked into jail Thursday evening, August 6, 2020, on multiple counts including sexual assault, kidnapping and sexual abuse.
The Department is grateful to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office and our Criminal Investigations Unit at ASPC-Florence for their collaborative efforts resulting in the arrest.
ADCRR joins Governor Ducey in acknowledging the great work of our Community Corrections staff for the vital public safety role they quietly perform in keeping our communities safe throughout the Great State of Arizona.
In order to continue to provide inmates with ongoing access to their attorneys, ADCRR security staff has had to facilitate even more legal calls between inmates and their attorneys. The revision to inmate communications was intended in good faith to relieve ADCRR correctional officers from the role of having to facilitate and monitor media telephone interviews of inmates and allow them to focus on their core safety responsibilities.
The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry has deployed six Wildland Fire Crews from Winslow, Florence, Lewis, Yuma, Tucson, and Safford Arizona State Prison Complexes to help fight the Bighorn Fire outside of Tucson and the Bush Fire in the Tonto National Forest.
